Medical Receptionist

A highly innovative medical provider is looking to hire a Medical Front Desk Receptionist to provide exceptional customer service to patients while ensuring the smooth operation of their medical office.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming patients and visitors, answering the telephone and answering any inquiries.

  • Scheduling appointments and keeping those appointments on time.

  • Assisting patients with completing necessary forms and documentation.

  • Keeping a clean and calm reception area.

  • Liaising with Medicare and private health funds

  • Faxing, scanning, filing, and mailing documentation.

  • Comforting distressed patients – this may range from simply fixing any appointment issues that may arise, through to being the voice of comfort during times of extreme stress and emergency.

  • Equipment sterilization and cleaning.

  • Monitoring and ordering stationery and clinical supplies.

  • Booking and organizing staff and doctor meetings.

  • Maintaining information confidentiality at all times.

  • Liaising with other medical departments such as radiologists, medical specialists or psychologists with professionalism and discretion.

 

Job Requirements:

  • At least 3 full years of direct experience as a medical office receptionist in a fast-paced clinic, hospital, or similar healthcare setting.

  • Must be able to multitask effectively; critical time management skills necessary

  • Understanding of basic healthcare terminology

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance companies alike

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Pleasant phone demeanor; bilingual speaker preferred

  • Computer skills required; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite mandatory, and must type 30+wpm

  • CPR certified
